Facebook could finally allow to vote against a comment

To prevent insults or false information, Facebook tests a rating system for comments. The top rated appear first, the most criticized go down.

This is not new, Facebook has a problem with Fake News. Although the group has allied itself with the media or changed its algorithm, nothing works: the false information is still spreading easily on the first social network.
To counter this epidemic, Facebook is considering new alternatives to limit the spread of harmful messages. Latest solution: a rating system for comments.

I do not like

Users who have long claimed a "I do not like" button can rejoice: the comment rating system tested by Facebook is very similar. Under a comment, users now have the opportunity to put a ↑ or a ↓, to request that a comment is better highlighted or, on the contrary, it is less visible. This is not the first time Facebook has tested this kind of system.

With this notation Reddit way, Facebook relies on its users to denounce messages that, for example, could be racist or conspiracy. Descended, these contents would be less exposed. This could allay the tensions and debates, sometimes virulent, Facebook comments. The social network insists that each vote is anonymous, and that the system should not be compared to reactions like "Like" or "Love".

False idea

Only question: how can Facebook ensure that Fake News broadcasters do not return the system against them? By calling for mass voting for hateful comments, and sending out messages from people who oppose false information, malicious communities could easily flourish on Facebook.

According to TechRadar, comment ratings are currently limited to users in Australia or New Zealand. If successful, no doubt that it should quickly be extended to all users.
