Facebook now wants to help you find a job

The job offers feature is available in France. It offers a particularly simple way to apply to companies.

Since February 2017, Canadian and US Facebook users have been able to view job postings on the social network, with the ability to apply directly from a button. This feature has now been extended to 42 countries, including France.

To see these classifieds, just go to the "Jobs" section created for the occasion. By default, Facebook displays ads from nearby businesses. However, it is possible to search for any city and filter by type of activity (consulting firm, marketing agency, hairdresser, pizzeria, ...) and type of contract (full time, part time , internship, volunteering, contract). Each ad is also shown on the page of the company in question.


The person interested in an offer can then click on "Apply Now". A form appears with the professional information Facebook has. Then simply press "Send" to validate the application.


Subsequently, the candidate has the opportunity to contact the employer directly through a Messenger session during which he can learn more about the job and specify his motivation. As we can see, the procedure is very simple.

Important point of clarification: the application does not give the employer any additional right of scrutiny concerning the candidate's personal data. The company will only be able to see publicly available data, not those restricted to friends circles.
