Spotify wants to create more interactions with your friends' playlists

The platform tests two new features to make it easier to listen to the titles, as well as the "discoveries of the week" of your contacts.

This is a new form of playlist spotted by only a few users a few months ago on Spotify. Dubbed "Friends Weekly", it consists of a weekly selection of songs that your friends have recently listened to on the platform. Instead of subscribing to someone to access their songs or share specific playlists with a contact, the principle is to create a playlist where each title is drawn from a different friend. It now seems that Spotify is in the process of generalizing access to "Friends Weekly", even though the company told The Verge website that it was still just a test.


After "Friends Weekly", "Friends Discover Weekly"

This week, a small additional innovation has appeared in the same vein. It is about "Friends Discover Weekly" which allows to access directly from his account to the selections "Discoveries of the week" automatically proposed every Monday to your friends. No need to go on their profiles to enjoy. But this is also a test and it is not offered to those who already enjoy "Friends Weekly".
All this shows that Spotify is anxious to increase the interactions between its subscribers in the manner of a social network.
