Google Chrome will clearly point out unsecured sites

Google wants to make HTTPS the Web standard and will, in the fall, alert users when a page is not secure.

We already knew that Google would stop marking pages in HTTPS as "secure" in July 2018 so that they become the rule. But the firm has just announced on its blog that it would go further.

Google had indeed announced that it would report sites in HTTP as being "not secure" and this from Chrome 68. Meanwhile, the mention "secure" and the little green padlock placed in front of the address bar will disappear small to small to no longer appear from Chrome 69 whose release is expected in September. "Users should expect the web to be secure by default and only be alerted when there is a risk," says Google on his blog.

In fact, and to push the sites which could have remained in HTTP and not to be formalized of this mention "unsecured" to switch to the HTTPS, the company of Mountain View announced that it will start as of the month of October, with Chrome 70, display a flashing red warning in front of an HTTP address.
