Google is on a HoloLens augmented reality headset

Google would be developing an augmented reality helmet prototype for businesses.

After DayDream View headsets and connected glasses, Google would be floor on an augmented reality headset capable of superimposing virtual content on the real world, seem to indicate documents that could get the German site WinFuture.

Even though the project is still at an early stage, this helmet, which is called the Google code A65, is supposed to look like Microsoft's HoloLens and would be made by the Taiwan brand Quanta, which is also responsible for Pixel C tablet. According to the German website, it is intended for professional use. This helmet would include a camera and a microphone but above all it would be autonomous. In other words no thread between the accessory and the computer.

It would work with special processors designed by Qualcomm, the same ones that will be used by the next version of the HoloLens helmet, quad-core QSC603 chips based on an ARM architecture. Among other capabilities, Winfuture indicates that these chips can provide video to WQHD and support the main graphics interfaces.

Google is not at its first attempt in this area. The Mountain View company has indeed released during the summer of 2017 a corporate version of its Google Glass that aim to help people using them to work better and more efficiently by always putting them in front of the information they have need. From there to putting them, the machine assembly scheme or the cross section of a human body there is only one step that the Mountain View firm seems to be preparing to take in the years to come.
