Google wants to help you get to YouTube

Google is providing YouTube users with a new feature to better manage their video consumption. Here's how to activate it with ease.

At the Google I / O, the firm has adopted a new creed: digital well-being. To help us wean screens, Google has implemented several measures including the option "Take a break" to pause with its YouTube video streaming platform.

How to activate "Take a Break"

To regulate your use of YouTube, nothing is easier. Just go directly to the mobile app.
Then tap your avatar at the top right of the home screen. In your account options, go to "Settings" and then "General Settings".
At the top of the list you will find "Remember to take a break". Then you decide how often you want to be notified: 15, 30, 60, 90 or 180 minutes.


Once the time is up, you will receive a notification suggesting that you take a short break. Your video does not stop, it's up to you to decide if you want to continue your activity on YouTube.
Spending three hours without interruption on YouTube may seem crazy, but the experience speaks for itself. It is very easy to get lost on the platform, a video often calling another, not to mention those proposed in suggestion.

Android P also offers other features to better control its consumption as the Dashboard application that counts the time spent on your smartphone and apps, the number of notifications received, etc. The goal is to educate users and help them better manage their uses.
