Nvidia GeForce GTX 1180: a landing scheduled for early July?

New rumors about the next Nvidia graphics cards suggest that their launch would occur in early summer.

It is becoming clear and June 15 would be in sight. According to some anonymous industry sources who spoke to a German journalist on the site Tom's Hardware, Nvidia plans to send its partners the first models of chips designed with the alleged architecture Turing (or Ampere?). These machines, which would also be equipped with GDDR6 memory, could be named GeForce GTX 1180 or GTX 2080 - the final nomenclature remains a mystery.

The first Founder's Edition cards (models sold live by Nvidia) would then be marketed from July and the custom models by Asus, MSI and others would arrive - at the end of the summer.

The GeForce GTX 1170 (or 2070), also expected for this summer, should normally arrive shortly after her big sister. A few weeks at most if Nvidia keeps the same shooting windows as when launching the GeForce Series 10.

The chips should take between four and five weeks to pass the multiple validation procedures both in force in the component industry and imposed by Nvidia. On the technical side, finally, no rumor has come to support or contradict what the previous leaks let us glimpse (see the article below). In short, it is very unlikely that Nvidia will take advantage of Computex 2018 (June 5-9) to announce new GeForces. Too bad, the Taipei lounge dedicated to the PC would have been the place dreamed!

And those who expect the E3 2018 (June 12 to 15) may well be disappointed too. With the exception of a dedicated launch event, only the 2018 edition of GamesCom (August 21st to 25th) will be among the potential shows that can host an Nvidia conference during which the new GPUs will arrive with great fanfare.

GTX for laptops for fall?

New rumor in sight for the mobile versions of the next GeForce GTX. Their arrival would be planned - always according to the sources of the German journalist Tom's Hardware - for the current of autumn in our future nomad companions.

According to our predictions (to be taken with tweezers), it is a safe bet that Asus, MSI or Acer are the first to offer them in their range of Christmas or - at worst - from the beginning of next year. These three are usually the most keen builders to react (not to mention assemblers like Clevo). Dell should follow them closely and finally, HP - whose inertia is historically more important - could come last.
