Samsung officializes the Galaxy A6, a condensed Galaxy S9 for two times cheaper

Available in a few weeks, the Galaxy A6 and A6 + are the new midrange of Samsung.

Fleeing for a few days, the Galaxy A6 and A6 + are now official. With these new mid-range smartphones, Samsung is addressing a clientele that does not want to invest too much in a smartphone, while offering them generous features. The brand does not currently communicate on French prices, but prices of 309 and 359 euros are indicated for other European countries.

Double camera module for the A9 +

Inside, the Galaxy A6 has features a little light, but should be sufficient for a majority of users. Octa-core processor clocked at 1.6 Ghz (Samsung does not say the name of the SoC but it is probably the Exynos 7870), 3 or 4 GB of RAM, 32 or 64 GB of internal storage (expandable by Micro SD) .... The smartphone benefits from a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a full HD + definition, which is unsurprisingly in the 18.5: 9 format. It is equipped with a 3000 mAh battery.

Better off, the Galaxy A6 + has a processor clocked at 1.8 Ghz (again, Samsung does not say more), a battery of 3500 mAh and a full HD + 6 inches. The choice of RAM and internal storage is identical between the two versions of the smartphone.


It is at the camera level that Galaxy A6 and A6 + stand out the most, the second inherits indeed a dual camera module, like the Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S9 +.

With a sensor of 16 Mpix (f / 1.7 aperture) and another 5 Mpix (aperture f / 1.9), the Galaxy A6 + can make photos with bokeh effect. The Galaxy A6 is satisfied with the only 16 Mpix sensor, which Samsung says have designed to take sharp and detailed photos, even in low light. We will judge on the piece. At the front, the Galaxy A6 has a 16 Mpix camera against 23 Mpix for the Galaxy A6 +. We also note the presence of a LED flash in the front. Perfect for taking beautiful selfies ... and seducing a younger audience.
